Reviewing and accepting an offer

Read a league's offer line by line, then accept it to book the games.

Overview

When a league wants to hire you, it sends an offer. You're emailed a link, and the offer appears under Offers in Bookings, marked Review the offer. Read it through before you accept. Accepting books every game on it, at the fee shown.

Open the offer

  1. Go to Bookings and select the league's name.
  2. The page is headed Offer from and the league's name, with an Offer tag.

What the offer says

What you'd agree to lists the terms that apply to the whole booking:

Term What it means
Hired as The role you're hired for, such as Referee or Statistician
Total fee Every game's rate plus expenses
Expenses An allowance on top of the rates, for travel or meals. Only shown when there is one
Duties What you do at each game
How you're paid How the league pays you, for example GCash or a bank transfer
Paid by The date the league agrees to pay you by
If it's cancelled What happens if either of you cancels
If someone doesn't show What happens if either of you doesn't turn up
Notes Anything else the league wants you to know

Games lists each game in the offer:

  • When — the date, start time and the time you finish.
  • Arrive by — when the league needs you there.
  • Where — the venue, with a Get directions link that opens Google Maps.
  • Deliver — what you hand over after the game, and by when.
  • Rate — your fee for that game.

Game times are in the season's time zone, which the page names above the games.

All amounts are in the currency on your services page. A league can't offer you a different one.

Accept the offer

  1. Under Your response, select Accept offer.
  2. The offer already carries the league's acceptance, so yours confirms the booking. The tag changes to Booked, and you're assigned to each game in the league's schedule.

If accepting doesn't work

You'll see a message at the top of the page instead:

  • This official has a conflicting confirmed commitment — the times overlap a game you're already booked for with another league. Propose changes with different times, or decline.
  • The game schedule or venue changed. Send a revised offer. — the league moved a game after sending the offer. Propose changes, which picks up the game's new time, or ask the league to revise the offer.
  • The agreement changed. Refresh and review the latest version. — someone sent a newer version while you were reading. Reload the page and review that one.

Not happy with the terms?

Select Propose changes to send the league your version, or open Decline offer at the bottom of Your response to turn it down. See Proposing changes and Declining or cancelling.

For what the league sees on its side, see Sending an offer.
