Withdrawing an offer or cancelling a booking
What happens when you withdraw an offer, cancel a booking, or turn down a revision, and what stays on record.
Overview
You can step back from an agreement at any point before it's finished. What the button says, and what it does, depends on where the agreement is. In every case you give a reason, the official is told, and the reason stays in the agreement's history.
Which action you'll see
Open the agreement from Hiring agreements. The action sits in the red box at the bottom of the page, or under Your response when the official is waiting on you.
| Where the agreement is | Action | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Offer not yet accepted | Withdraw offer | The offer closes as Withdrawn. Nothing was booked. |
| Booking confirmed | Cancel booking | The booking closes as Cancelled and games not yet worked are released. |
| You sent changes to a booking | Withdraw your changes | Your revision is dropped. The booking stays as it was. |
| The official sent changes to a booking | Decline the changes | Their revision is dropped. The booking stays as it was. |
| A new total is waiting | Withdraw your settlement or Decline the settlement | The proposed total is dropped. The agreed total stands. |
Do it
- In Tell name why, write the reason. The official sees it.
- Select the action, then confirm it in the dialog.
What cancelling a booking releases
- Unworked games — their commitments are cancelled. Assignments the booking created on upcoming games are removed, so the game shows no official for that role.
- Finished work — games already completed stay on record, and so does anything you've paid.
- The season roster — the official stays on the season's officials roster. Remove them there if you don't want them assigned again. See Season officials roster.
The terms you agreed, every version and the activity log all stay on the agreement page.
After a cancellation
If you still owe the official something, for example a cancellation fee your terms allow, propose a new total from the agreement page. See Recording a payment to an official.
