What the Officials Portal is
For referees, statisticians, scorekeepers and other game-day staff — what you can do here and how leagues find you.
Overview
The Officials Portal is where game-day staff get booked. You pick the roles you work in, StatsCentral verifies them, and you publish a services page with your rate and availability. Leagues send you offers for specific games, and you agree the terms here before game day.
It's for game officials (statisticians, referees, umpires and scorekeepers), media and content roles (writers, photographers, videographers and announcers), and team staff (coaches and trainers).
What's in the portal
The menu has four areas:
| Area | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Your upcoming games, what needs your attention, and where each of your roles stands. |
| Services | Your services page: what you do, the sports and area you cover, your starting rate, and publishing your profile. |
| Availability | The hours you usually work and the dates you're not available. |
| Bookings | Offers from leagues and the games you've agreed to work, with every version of the terms. |
Services and Bookings open once StatsCentral verifies at least one of your roles. Until then the portal takes role applications only. Your Availability is open from the start.
How leagues find and book you
- Apply for your roles. Each role has its own short application, and StatsCentral checks it. See Applying for a role.
- Publish your services page. Once a role is verified, add your services and rate, then publish.
- Get offers. League admins find verified game officials in the League OS officials marketplace and send offers for the games they need. See Finding officials in the marketplace for what they see.
- Agree, work, get paid. You accept the offer or propose changes, work the games, submit your work, and confirm payment when it arrives. Payment happens outside StatsCentral.
Only verified game official roles appear in the League OS marketplace. Media, content and team staff roles show on your public page once your profile is published.
The Needs your attention list
The Needs your attention panel on your dashboard lists what's waiting on you, for example:
- Confirm your email — League OS can't book or assign you until your email is confirmed.
- Update your application — StatsCentral asked for a change to one of your role applications.
- Publish your profile — your services page is still a draft.
- Review the offer — a league sent you an offer.
- Submit your work — a game you worked is waiting for your delivery notes.
- Confirm payment — a league reported paying you.
Start with the top item on that list. If it says Nothing needs you right now, you're up to date.
